SWISS NATIONAL HOLIDAY CELEBRATION
Momrow Road, Sand Lake, NY
Sunday, August 3rd, 2014
2:30pm

We are very grateful to Paul Tobler, our vice-president, for providing his beautiful home in the hills near Troy, N.Y for our celebration. A map with directions is enclosed.

We will meet, rain or shine, starting at 2:30pm.This year we will have the pleasure of the visit of Consul Thomas Schneider, Head of the Swiss Culture and Education Department at the Swiss Consulate General in New York City.

We will also be joined by Ruedi Frischknecht and his accordion + alphorn.

The official part of our celebration starts at 4:00pm with the greeting and taped english address to the Swiss Abroad by the President of the Confederation, Didier Burkhalter.

Hot Bratwurst, rolls, coffee and soda will be served and the traditional First of August pin will be for sale. This year the funds raised will go to help Swiss Youth abroad connect with Switzerland.   Please bring a dish to share. We will set up a few tables, buffet style, for the enjoyment of all. Don’t forget to bring chairs and picnic tables if possible.

Return your response by July 22nd to give us a better idea of how many participants we can expect. This will make our preparations easier. Also please  inform us of any changes to our member roster by the same date.

Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to enjoy our Swiss “camaraderie”.  We hope to see you all at our Bundesfeier.
